As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Libya’s sovereign institutions , Dr Ali Mahmoud, Chairman and CEO of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), convened a meeting today, Monday 4 August 2025, with His Excellency Mr Taher Al-Baour, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Tripoli.

During the meeting, the discussion focused on a range of subjects pertaining to the LIA’s international responsibilities, and explores avenue  to strength coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to facilitate the LIA’s initiatives and ensure the protection of its assets and investments on the international stage.

His Excellency the Acting Minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing all necessary legal and diplomatic support to reinforce the LIA’s role , along with safeguarding and developing Libya’s national assets.

In response, Dr Ali Mahmoud highlighted the critical importance of a strategic partnership and continuous coordination between sovereign entities, commending the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for its exerted efforts in supporting the LIA’s work and fostering an enabling environment to fulfil its objectives.
