Executive Management
The Executive Management Team is responsible for the implementation of strategies, plans and programs prepared and approved by the Board of Directors, in addition to the day-to-day management of the operations of the Libyan Investment Authority.
The Corporate Governance
The Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) is committed to the highest standards of institutional governance not only within the Authority itself, but across its entire group of subsidiaries and affiliated portfolios. To fulfil this commitment, the LIA has established a dedicated Corporate Governance Division tasked with embedding sound governance practices throughout the group.
The Corporate Governance Division serves as the institutional anchor for governance across the LIA Group. Its responsibilities span oversight, policy, performance, and culture working to ensure that every entity within the group operates with integrity, accountability, and alignment with international best practices.
Group-wide governance oversight
The Division oversees governance standards across all LIA subsidiaries and affiliated portfolios, ensuring consistency with the Authority’s policies and alignment with globally recognized frameworks.
Board and committee performance
The Division evaluates the performance of Boards of Directors and their committees, providing structured recommendations to enhance their effectiveness and governance quality
Policy review and development
Corporate policies and regulations across the group are periodically reviewed to ensure they remain current, consistent, and aligned with best practices. Where gaps are identified, the Division provides recommendations and supports remediation.
ESG and responsible investment
The Division leads the adoption of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) best practices across the group, promoting responsible investment principles and supporting the LIA’s broader sustainability commitments.
Governance risk management
Governance risks are identified, assessed, and addressed through structured action plans — ensuring that potential vulnerabilities are managed proactively before they affect the group’s operations or reputation.
General Assembly support
The Division contributes to General Assembly activities across the group, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure proper conduct and compliance.
Implementation monitoring
The Division monitors the group’s implementation of the Authority’s resolutions and strategic directives, ensuring accountability and follow-through at all levels.
Governance awareness and culture
Beyond structures and policies, the Division actively promotes a culture of good governance throughout the organization — through awareness initiatives, capacity building, and institutional dialogue.
